OJT daily Journal(Memories)

During my OJT in the BFP OPFM (Bureau of fire Protection office of the Provincial Fire Marshal) i'd realized that there are a big difference between school and office. First in school there are subjects in a right time which must be attended while in the office or workplace the exact time to go is 8a.m til 5p.m which is total of 8 hours a day. In our OJT there are some occasional task but not much compared to school and it depends our supervisor if he ask us to something to do. I learned a lot of things in my OJT for more that 3 months of stay in the BFP OPFM like dealing with the personnel and staff in a humble way, following what they ask us to do like encoding some reports, and printing it, passing it to the regional office. All of that task that we done was the job of a personnel in that office. They let us experience their task in the office. Thanks to the BFP OPFM personnel and staff for the three months of On the job Training. They are so easy to deal with all the paper...

this day is our last day in the BFP and we have a lot of happy memories today. Its a right day that all the BFP personnel are all present in the office so we have a chance for picture taking with them. We appreciate all the days/time we are in the BFP office. all the personnel are so good to us and they are very kind. Thanks BFP for the happy days that we served to them and they treat us good.

Tomorrow will be our last day in the office so now we do our requirements ready for signing by our supervisor and the head of the BFP fire marshal. sir atiga design already the certification for us.

Today our task in the office was to go to the regional headquarters at washington drive to get some message/memo from the operational division.

Today we have a limited task done in the office like the memorandum from the regional headquarters which notify the bfp personnel to be in their proper uniform because some of them does not wear uniform :).

Today we started transferring the time in /time out/date we are present in the bfp office from the logbook/attendance book. we are glad after knowing that we dont have any late in the office.

Today we informed our supervisor sir antiga that our OJT will end next week. He advised us to make our own dtr format from the logbook/attendance book we sign everyday we go to the office and then sir ask us aside from the dtr what are the other things we need to accomplish the ojt requirements just like the certification from them and the evaluation form to be fill up by them for us.

There were less things to do today so we decided to update our journals  because there seem to be a problem regarding the dates. unfortunately we were not able to fix it. there must be something wrong with blogger. In the afternoon we focused on creating our system because we heard that next week, madam maceda would check our system and she would require 70% functionality. :(

It is the late celebration of Sir Dado's birthday. Our proctors asked us a favor to stay late till 7pm because they will have a party at Sir Dado's house. we agreed to stay and they taught us how to use their radio and fax machine. while they were gone, a BFP personnel from the regional office called and sent us a fax message. around 6:55 pm, Sir Jaja was already back from Sir Dado's house and he brought us food from the party. we ate the food he brought before going home.

today mam irma ask a favor to us to make a tarpaulin design for their activity entitled clean up drive tomorrow which is focused on cleaning the environment in legazpi city.

today we go to the bureau of treasury at legazpi city to pass some papers from the office. sir dado decided to let us use his motorcycle, its a good feeling when sir trust us to use his things :)

We were asked to go to the regional office to pass the documents we encoded a couple of days ago. in the afternoon, we were asked to buy pancit for "mirienda".

It is the opening of BU week! we decided not to go to the Bu to watch the event , we rather than go to our OJT so that we can Finish this first week of October. we take the bigger priority on this day

When we arrived in the office this morning, there was a parade which came from daraga going to albay park. It was for the Governor's cup. two of our naughty proctors namely, sir antiga and sir Zolarz joked around with the people passing by the street and in the afternoon we were asked to go to the regional office to retrieve a printed radio message for sir Zolarz. 

Today mam Irma  ask a favor to us to make a tarpaulin for the deceased BFP regional director ssupt. Leonardo Prades. We finish the tarp design within 30 minutes then we go to the willprint at washington to print the tarpaulin

Today the bfp personnel shocked for hearing the news that the bfp regional director had passed just this day. in the news said that the cause of his death was drowning at the legazpi near embarcadero.

Today we are assigned to go to the regional Office to pass some papers to the budget section and to the finance section.

On this day we dont have so much task to do. we wait for them to assign a task to us.

On this day sir dado assigned a task to us to go to the Alemars trading in front of De vera Institute  to get his new uniform. that's the only task this day

On this day one of the personnel sir aguilar ask a favor to us to fix the system unit that he brought from his house. We found out that the broken part of the system unit is in the mother board. so he decided to swap the system unit to the one of the system unit that never been use in the office. today we apply some learning from the hardware servicing last year :).

Some salesmen from HTC came today and showcased their product. It was a Bluetooth headset. Our proctors asked us to check the gadget and it was great. when our proctors heard a good rating from us, some of them bought the headset. they always ask us all about gadgets specially for laptops spec.

today we debug some error on our proposed system which is all about inserting dynamic textfield, getting the values and insert it to the database which is a little irritating .

Not to much task this day except for encoding, going outside to buy some snacks and most of all doing some of our thesis manuscript.

when we arrived in the office, there are a lot of BFP personnel in the office. then we found out that today was their payday. we were asked to cut many pink papers which is their payslip.. then  later in the afternoon, some representatives from other stations from far away came and took the payslip for their station.

Yesterday was legal holiday so this our first day this week. so last week we didnt manage to finish the encoding. we continue it this day.

we encoded some fire inspections of structure of the following stations; guinobatan, Daraga and legazpi fire station. its a bit long encoding.:) atleast we have something done this day

Today one of the personnel in the office ask a favor to us to clean the office by brushing the floor.

On this day we dont have some task in the office. so we have some time to research some data needed on our proposed system

as usual common task just like yesterday , going to the regional office retrieve some message.

Today a lot of task was assigned to me. just like encoding some reports and going to the regional office to pass some message from the provincial office

As usual task on thid day, we go to the regional office to pass some report then get some papers also.

Its our 30th day in the bfp office and we have 50% of hours required in our OJT. My only task on this day was to voluntarily wash the dishes that we used when we eat snack in the afternoon. :)

In the morning we dont have any task in the Office, then before we logout to take a lunch break sir antiga approach us to come early in the afternoon after we take a lunch because he had some papers to encode to us, as we came in the afternoon he change his mind , instead he just order us to go to the legal office in the capitol to retrieve some photocopy papers.

The only order to us on this day was to go to the regional office to retrieve a letter or message to the operation department.

On this day, it was again blackout til 5pm. so we dont have any task like encoding and printing at the bfp office

today we add some functionality to our PIS which is the conversion of the database to excel.

We only create the design of our PIS today. We dont have a task this day in the BFP office

We continue what we encoded last friday.

as we arrived  in the morning sir dado order us to go to regional office in washington to get the payslip of all bfp personnel in the province of albay. after that we group each payslip by unit code. in the afternoon we order to encode all the fire incident report in the province of albay. we didn't finish it so we will continue it on next week

So Boring day without electricity

There was a black out through out Albay and there is no task assigned to us in this day  which results to a dull and boring day in the office

Its a blackout day in the province of albay. no generator in the office of the bfp that results to a hot day. nothing to do.

On this day our task was to encode some reports , submit some papers in the regional office and sit..hehhe

even though today is our proposal defense, we manage to go to our ojt in the morning and have some short interview with some personnel. we also think and plan what we will do in our re-defense in the afternoon. thanks god it was a success for our re-defense

Thanks to Sir Antiga , he advised us in making of our thesis project and he explained all the needed information for our thesis. he is just like a private thesis adviser to us.

On this day, we encoded some documents in the excel which is the consolidated reports. we finished in the afternoon and for short it is a taskfull day..hehehe

in this day we dont have so much task to be done in the office. meanwhile one of the officer or personnel ask us to check his laptop because the screen is not turning on. we dont know what is the exact problem of the laptop so i advised sir imperial to bring his laptop to the nearest repair center.

its monday so we came in uniform in the office and its rainy day. sir dado order as to deliver the broken printer to the repair center in the bonot legazpi city.

We dont have so much task in this day which lead us to become bored in the office.

We arrived on time in this day. my two groupmates assigned to clean the office of the bfp fire marshal because later there was a meeting that will be held in that office and I am still researching for some tutorial to enhanced our design for the system

The only thing we done in this day was to research some design that can add some functionality to our proposed system to the bfp while waiting for some personnel that needed our help.

On this Day one of my groupmates order by one of the personnel to encode some reports in the office. I prepare to do some parts of our system while there is nothing to do in the office.

in this day there are many visitors in the office from the different stations. so we greet them nicely. some task that assigned to us was the ff: photocopy of some documents, buying some snack for the personnel visitors and going to bodega site to buy some printer ink:)

Day 8 another day of our ojt and were getting closer to the personnel of the BFP. they treat us and approach us nicely that's why we follow what the task they assigned to us like encoding and printing.

As usual almost the same day before less task and more time to do and think of our thesis.  instead of brain storming nauwi kami sa brain draining .hehe what a funny day

Day 6 , on this day there are only few task that are assigned to ask in the bfp office . we deliver some documents to the provincial office then thats all. :)

today we do some chatting with sir Antiga all about the processes in the bfp office. he explained all the departments and the task or work they do. so we are glad for this day because we can apply the information to our thesis.

On this day we already finished some layout or design of our proposed system to the bfp which is approved by them. below is the sample screenshot of our proposed system :).

during our ojt sorting of PDS file Day 3, as usual we thought that this day was the same day what we do before. but were wrong. starting in the morning as we arrived in the bfp we were immediately given a task by sir Michael Imperial to sort and check every Personnel Data Sheet (PDS) submitted by every station of bfp in the province of albay. We are glad that we have done this task starting in the morning till the afternoon and submitted the files to regional office. This task that assigned to us was related to our proposed system which is Record management acrhiving system and personnel information system and it adds an idea fo additional features to our proposed system. Thanks god for this day again

This is the 2nd day of our OJT which is so tiring. There are 3 things that we have done today on our OJT. the first thing is applying some learned knowledge on hardware servicing to fix the printer in the BFP office and the second is fixing some keyboard and mouse alignment to make our encoding of the Personnel Data Sheet (PDS) faster.

On this day we started our on the job training in the bureau of fire protection albay provincial office. as we arrived @ 8 o'clock in the morning , one of the officer here approaches us and make some conversation regarding what we will do during our OJT. The First job that assigned to us was to encode some personnel data sheet which is not so hard so far. There are lot of time here to make some part of our thesis. Thanks god for this 1st day of practicum because they are all nice to us. hope it will last to the day our ojt will end.
